• Dr. Wejinya and his students, Zhuxin Dong and Lauren Kuenzel mentored home schooled students (6-7 graders) that took second place in Quality Design of Robot in a competition.

Testimony from their parents/teachers ….

“The “RoboTeam” would like to extend a late THANK YOU to all three of you for hosting our team. All of us were very encouraged to continue learning more about our Robot and to apply the programming that we saw used by you. Just having someone other than your Mother tell you how to use the program really broadened the kiddos idea of what they could do with their sensors. They now are using the Ultrasonic and Touch sensors in their Missions and are having continued success. After explaining how your lab is set up, we are hoping to find some more computers to add to our practice table and thus speed up the programming and share the experience with more children. This weekend we will go to Mountain Home, AR for an all day tournament to race our robots to do some specific missions. Our guys have pinpointed a couple Missions to tackle and are proud of their accomplishments. We all want you to know how great the experience was to visit you and to have you talk thru programming. Lauren was a great spokeswoman for the Mechanical Engineering Dept. especially getting our kids excited. Mr. Huxin really connected with the children using his model and computer knowledge. We all enjoyed meeting and spending a couple hours with you.”
