  • Dr. Wejinya received a patent titled “End-Effector for Nano Manufacturing.” US Patent Number 8,079,278, December 2011, with Xi, Ning and Shen, Yantao

  • In September 2011, Dr. Sunny Iyuke, Professor of Chemical and Process Engineering and Head of School (HoS) of Chemical & Metallurgical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) Johannesburg, South Africa, visited Dr. Wejinya’s lab. During his visit, Dr. Iyuke gave a presentation titled “Nanotechnology in Integrated Science & Engineering Education” in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His presentation was attended by researchers from Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry, MicroEP program, etc.

  • Panama delegation visitors, Prof. Maria Eugenia de Aleman, Prof. Dimas Quiel and Dr. Etilvia Arjona, visited Dr. Wejinya’s lab, and Zhuxin Dong gave them a talk on Atomic Force Microscopy, July 21, 2011.

  • Dr. Wejinya gave an invited talk at the, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.

  • Dr. Wejinya and his graduate student, Mr. Dong attended and presented their work at the IEEE NEMS Conference in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

  • Dr. Wejinya and his graduate student, Mr. Dong hosted Engineering Summer Camp—Taught Robotics to 7-8 Graders.

  • Dr. Wejinya’s graduate student, Mr. Chalamalasetty attended and presented their research work at the Annual Arkansas Space Grant Consortium Symposium in Petit Jean, AR.

  • Dr. Wejinya served on a NSF Review Panel — East Asia Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) Program.
